Please, Don’t Touch Anything Introduction:
Please, Don't Touch Anything," later rebranded as "Please, Don't Touch Anything: Classic" when it arrived on the Nintendo Switch in Europe and North America, is a puzzle video game created by the Russian indie studio Four Quarters. It was initially released on March 26, 2015, for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux via Steam, and later, on October 21, 2015, for iOS. An updated version with virtual reality support, titled "Please, Don't Touch Anything 3D," was co-developed with Escalation Studios and launched on December 7, 2016, for Windows and Mac OS X. Furthermore, an enhanced version of the game, featuring improved graphics and additional solutions, became available on the Nintendo Switch on November 22, 2018.
In this game, players assume the role of the protagonist, who finds themselves locked in a mysterious room while their colleague takes a break. In front of them is a control panel, which, despite clear instructions not to touch, they must interact with to advance through the game. Players must carefully study the instructional poster in the room to decipher how to manipulate the panel, with various combinations of actions leading to numerous different endings.
Gameplay:
Tyler Wilde, writing for PC Gamer, described the game as an "enjoyable puzzle box" but remarked that it lacked a meaningful narrative, expressing a desire for a more intriguing story akin to titles like Papers, Please or The Stanley Parable. On the other hand, Rob Rich from Gamezebo praised the pleasant art style but criticized the puzzles for being cryptic and the gameplay for lacking depth.
Alysia Judge, reviewing the iOS version for Pocket Gamer UK, awarded it the website's Silver Award and commended its fun gameplay packaged in a charming pixel art aesthetic. Finally, Jed Whitaker of Destructoid found the VR remake to be a great value for its price, noting that it could evoke both laughter and surprise from players.
