Bejeweled Blitz Free Download [2023]
Bejeweled Blitz Introduction:
Bejeweled Blitz, originally a Facebook application created by PopCap Games, transformed into a downloadable game driven by the Bejeweled 3 engine due to its distinctiveness from Bejeweled 2 and upgraded graphics. Electronic Arts took over publishing and distribution in 2011 after acquiring PopCap. This game, a part of the Bejeweled franchise, initially appeared on iOS within the Bejeweled 2 iOS app before becoming a standalone app and later launching on Android devices.
The objective of Bejeweled Blitz is to achieve the highest score within a one-minute timeframe by matching gems and Multipliers. Through Facebook connectivity, players can compete for high scores on leaderboards. Players can employ boosts (formerly requiring coins, but now free) to gain in-game power-ups, as well as Rare Gems, unique power-ups altering gameplay, such as explosive gems or diagonal gem destruction.
Gameplay:
The primary game screen consists of an 8 x 8 grid of gems. Players form lines of three by swapping adjacent gems, causing matched gems to vanish and new ones to cascade from above. Matches of four or more gems create special gems. A base value of 250 points is awarded for each match, and speedy matching three times consecutively triggers a Speed Bonus, progressively increasing from 200 to 1,000 for nine speed matches, eventually unlocking the Ignition Meter. When full, the Ignition Meter triggers Blazing Speed, where the playing field ignites, causing every match to explode and destroy surrounding gems, similar to a Flame Gem. Matching a Multiplier with two other gems increases the point value as the game progresses, starting at 2x. After one minute, players receive an end-of-game bonus called the Last Hurrah, removing Special gems and Multipliers before adding the Last Hurrah bonus to the subtotal, determining the final score. Progress also leads to Star Medals, ranging from 25,000 to 10,000,000 points or more. Coin Gems add 100 coins to the player's bank when matched and provide five times their base value.
Bejeweled Blitz LIVE introduces exclusive features, including offline VS. mode for up to two players, online VS. mode, and a party mode accommodating up to 16 players. A distinctive feature is Twist mode, resembling Bejeweled Twist, allowing players to spin gems counter-clockwise, a departure from the original game mechanics.
